For community organisations

Simple attendance for community groups

If you regularly bring a group of people together, RollCall helps you keep track of who's actually there — without a clipboard, a spreadsheet, or someone typing it all up afterwards.

Built for groups that meet again and again

Clubs, community programmes, volunteer teams, support groups, classes, Men's Sheds, holiday programmes, committees — the shape differs, the problem doesn't. People arrive, someone writes names down, and the record is only as good as whoever was holding the pen.

RollCall replaces that with self check-in and a history that keeps itself.

What it looks like in practice

People check themselves in

One device at the entrance. They find their name, tap, and they're recorded — no queue building behind them.

New people join themselves

First-timers add their own details and are checked in on the spot, so nothing has to be typed up later.

Numbers when you need them

Attendance per session and over time, exportable to CSV for funders, committees or grant reports.

Useful when you have to report

Community organisations are often asked to show participation — for a grant, a council contract, a funding round or an annual report. Reconstructing that from memory and a pile of sign-in sheets is miserable, and the numbers are never quite right.

With every session recorded as it happens, the answer is already there: how many sessions you ran, how many people came, how that changed across the year.

Volunteers can run it

Nothing to learn. Whoever's on the door opens RollCall on a tablet or laptop; everyone else types their own name. Volunteers and coordinators can get a PIN login scoped to their own group, so they can see who's in without access to anything else.

Common questions

Is RollCall only for churches and youth groups?

No. It's built for any organisation that needs a simple way to manage check-in and attendance — clubs, community programmes, volunteer teams, events and classes included.

Can we track more than one programme?

One RollCall organisation has one member list, one check-in link and one attendance record per person per day. On Pro you can split members into groups with their own leaders, which works well for one programme run by several teams. Programmes that need fully separate attendance are best run as separate RollCall organisations.

What information can we keep about people?

Contact details, an emergency contact, and any custom fields that matter to your organisation. It's visible to your authorised leaders only, and you can export or delete it at any time.

Can we track when people leave, not just when they arrive?

Yes. Turn on Member Sign-Out and people sign themselves out on the way past the same device, so each session records a time in, a time out and the time on site — handy when a funder or programme asks for hours attended rather than headcount. It's off by default and included on every plan.
